The Ford S-MAX makes it possible to travel with up to six passengers in style. This practical, flexible, and comfortable MPV delivers a rewarding driving experience, and despite its prodigious passenger-carrying qualities, it’s easy to manoeuvre in urban situations thanks to an intelligent design. It’s just as well suited to long-haul journeys too, with smart driver assistance technology to make cruising easy and comfortable.
The S-MAX has much more in common with a hatchback than many of its van-like competitors. Its head-turning aesthetic includes a bold radiator grille, which is flanked by streamlined headlights, and a swept-back roofline that lends this people carrier its sporty look. And while the S-MAX is ideal for accommodating growing families, it’s a good choice for a wide range of businesses too, especially when it comes to conveying a larger number of passengers. What’s more, a five-door body allows unfettered entry and exit for rear-seated travellers and similarly straightforward access to the luggage area.
A choice of Blazer Blue or Frozen White body colours is available as standard, alongside options such as White Platinum, Frozen White or Lucid Red.
While its exterior is chic, it’s the interior where the S-MAX really excels, offering plenty of flexibility. There’s lots of room for five adults to travel in comfort, and the second row has individual seats that slide forwards and backwards independently, so all passengers can find their perfect position. Of course, the rearmost row is best suited to conveying younger travellers, who will find this section more than adequate in terms of both comfort and space.
When transporting a full complement of people, it’s important that each traveller has somewhere to put drinks, phones, magazines and more. With lots of cubby spaces dotted around the cabin, including an expansive glove compartment and several cup-holders, items can be stowed securely on the move.
With all seats in place, this MPV possesses a 285-litre luggage volume. Rear seats can be folded flush to the floor, thus freeing up 700 litres, which should be more than adequate in most instances. However, if this doesn’t suffice, with all but the front seats folded (or removed), the S-MAX delivers an impressive 2,000 litres of cargo capacity.
